WOLLONGONG July School Holiday Workshops are as follows (full workshop descriptions below of camp dates remaining):
We have now re-opened our Nowra workshops! Our July School Holiday Workshops will now take place over the following two locations below:
Introduction to Robotics Workshops (UOW Shoalhaven and Wollongong)
This our standard beginner course. Students are introduced to LEGO® Robotics, learning the basics of robotics and programming as they build robots capable of reacting to their environment and making simple decisions. The second day of the workshop finishes with the ever-popular “Robot Sumo” challenge and a tournament where all families are welcome. No previous experience is required. While the activity is designed to be suitable for ages 7 and up, we will accept younger students if they are accompanied by an adult.
Note: Introduction to Robotics is our recommended course for novice students. However, Grand Sumo can serve as an alternate for students who feel the Introduction course is too simple. Contact Us if you would like more information.
Grand Sump Workshops (UOW Shoalhaven and Wollongong)
3-2-1 Fight! In Grand Sumo, students will explore the possibilities in one of the favourite Robo Camp activities as they design custom robots to autonomously fight robot sumo matches. Extra building options and advanced code will be offered to anyone interested in taking their fighting skills to the next level!
This course is a mix of free-range and guided material. Students will be led through complex programming, and then encouraged to design and build robots to fight in a sumo ring. This is designed for students already familiar with LEGO® Robotics – or novices able to cope with a steep learning curve! While the activity is designed to be suitable for ages 7 and up, we will accept younger students if they are accompanied by an adult. Contact Us if you would like more information.
Note: Introduction to Robotics is our recommended course for novice students. However, Grand Sumo can serve as an alternate for students who feel the Introduction course is too simple.
During school term, classes run after-school in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven. Visit www.projectb.net.au/robo-club/ to find out more.
